For DX integrity, I would like to raise the probability that my Jan 6 presumed logging of Micronesia, could very well have been the high side of 4755v R. Imaculado Conceicao-Campo Grande, Brazil. Today, Jan 11, during the same time frame, I had a signal featuring Portuguese religous talk & mx, with a fade out pattern very similar to my Micronesia log. Tuned up to 4775.4v and the sig was audible there. Geo-Clock also shows Campo Grande well into sunrise by 0935+. Obviously, this needs more work on my end.

Last night's (local time) DX. All logged at Hazelwood, MO (15 miles NW of the Gateway Arch) on a Sangean ATS-803A with a homebrew 150-foot (45 m) dipole:

7120 SOMALILAND Radio Hargeisa noted 1/12 at 0258 UTC with Horn of Africa music, ID and news in Somali. Good to fair signal.

9520 GERMANY RFE/RL noted 1/12 at 0435 UTC with news and features in Russian. Fair signal.

5950 ETHIOPIA Voice of the Tigray Revolution noted 1/12 at 0525 UTC with Horn of Africa music, talk in a local language. Fair to poor signal.

15420 PALAU. R. Free Sarawak - Medorn. Noted at 1104 in Iban language aimed at rural listeners in Sarawak. Lots of excited talk and discussion between the announcers and studio guests. A short musical interlude on traditional stringed instruments at 1120. Fair level.

21630 USA. WHRI - Cypress Creek. Don't often hear this one at this time/frequency. Weak signal with English religious programming at 1930 trying to break through what is normally a closed band for at least another few hours here at Mount Evelyn (our early mornings). Also noted France via Montsinery, French Guiana on 21690 with pretty much the same quality signal. Both signals faded by 1940!

4925 KOREA. MND Radio - Jongan. On later than usual for this scheduled transmission (normally scheduled for closure at 1040) with a long propaganda talk in Korean at 1015. Hymn by a church choir at 1056 to bring the broadcast to a close at 1058. Fair level with a low-level heterodyne from Brazil on 4925.2. Bad CODAR interference tonight, too. But no sign of jamming.

11665 MALAYSIA. RTV Malaysia - Kajang. Long chants at 2117, nice quick ID at 2125, then into more chanting and traditional songs. Fair level.

4940 SAO TOME. VOA - Pinheira. English with African news at 2007. Fair to poor and not nearly as strong as VOA's Botswana outlet on 4930.

4949.8 ANGOLA. R. Nacional de Angola - Mulvenos. First noted at 1950 with a talk program in Portuguese. If it's heard here, it's usually with under-powered modulation, but seemed a bit better this morning.

3200 SWAZILAND. TWR Africa - Manzini. Not strong in the English service at 1910 but readable. Faded by 1925. One of the few signals on the band at this time in our summer sunrise.

3385 PAPUA NEW GUINEA. NBC East New Britain - Rabaul. The morning service in Tok Pisin at 1915. Weak signal during our summer sunrise at 5.15am.

4975.98 UGANDA. UBC Radio - Kampala. Much better signal this morning since returning to shortwave dials. Full modulation audio and a very clean signal at 1945. Local language programming with al long talk till 1953 when we heard a groovy Afro dance number. Faded out before it's scheduled s/of of 2100. Fantastic to hear this station back on air again. Dec 30.

4975.97 And again this morning with English programming noted at 1845 with a discussion on local politics and future issues in Uganda. Pop song at 1854. News at 1900. January 1 - nice signal.
