7110 MYANMAR Thazin Radio tentative 2357 Burmese with easy-listening style of Burmese pop music, music through top-of-the-hour to 0003 woman speaking with music bridges (maybe news headlines), quite sure I heard a mention of “Thazin”. Perfect grayline between my location and Myanmar as sun was setting here. Thanks to tip from Ron Howard and Dan Sheedy in California. Poor to fair, mostly free of ham QRM Dec 10/11. GREECE. 7475, UT Sunday Dec 9 at 0630 after music, R. Filia ID in Spanish and more music. So unknown whether it was officially Albanian until 0630 today, but on other occasions Albanian has continued past 0630 or German started. It`s easy to launch a R. Philia stream at the ERT website, not so easy to find a program schedule if there is any. Meanwhile much weaker VOG 9420 had the usual Greek Orthodox concert on Sunday mornings (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Greetings from Mount Evelyn, AUS:

9505 SUDAN. Voice of Sudan, Omdurman (Al Aitahab). First noted at 0440 with a fair signal in Arabic. Programming of mainly local music including drums, strings, native instruments, and vocals, providing entertaining listening on a lazy Sunday afternoon while I pottered around in the radio shack! Often there were long pauses between the announcements and the next song. Occasional ID's including one in French! At 0531, the audio suddenly disappeared but the carrier was still present. Then at 0539, it was back with regular programming. Monitored to past 0630.

Another short 22mb band scan in the 0500 period. I've left out the numerous Chinese outlets - we know they're there!

13630 AUSTRALIA. RA - Shepparton. English service 0500 and scheduled to s/off 0800.

13650 NORTH KOREA. VOK - Kujang. English service at 0537, and // 15100, but neither frequency was especially flash in the signal strength department!

13660 CYPRUS. BBC - Limassol. Arabic service at 0535. Poor level.

13720 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Sudan Radio Service Dafur - Dhabbaya. A fair signal noted at 0510 with Arabic talks and frequent groovy North African pop songs. Station address given at 0527. More grooviness at 0528 (with drums and traditional instruments) then suddenly off at 05:29:30.

13765 MADAGASCAR. Vatican Radio - Talata. Portuguese service s/on 0530. Fair level.

13800 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. R. Dabanga - Dhabbaya. Arabic talks at 0520, monitored through to s/off at 0557. Weak signal

4810 PERU Radio Logos tentative at 0311 tune-in, choir singing hymns “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, then at 0316 beginning several Andean songs with typical flute music, no announcer until 0324 when briefly in possible Spanish. Poor with heavy CODAR QRM, best audio was by listening in AM on low side at 4808. Dec 8.
